Component of the multienzyme pyruvate dehydrogenase complex (complex composed of EC 1.2.4.1 pyruvate dehydrogenase (lipoamide), EC 2.3.1.12 dihydrolipoamide S-acetyltransferase and EC 1.8.1.4 dihydrolipoamide dehydrogenase).
