Asparagine and Aspartate degradation to Oxaloacetate

              



Aspartate, a four carbon amino acid, is directly transaminated to oxaloacetate, a citric acid cycle intermediate. Asparagine is hydrolyzed by asparaginase to NH4+ and aspartate, wich is then transaminated.
